The Piano Brothers

Mrs. Joyce Justice Legg, age 75, of Old Fort, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 10, 2017 following several years of declining health.  She was blessed to be in the company of her loving family when she transitioned from this side of eternity into her heavenly home.  A native of McDowell County, Joyce was born on February 4, 1942 to the late Winford and Lennie Pope Justice.  She was retired from Parker Hosiery in Old Fort but had also worked for many years at Currier Piano in Marion.  A member of Living Church of God in Asheville, she loved her Lord with all her heart.  Joyce had many interests including crafts, sewing and cooking.  A mother of four, she had a large, loving family and many friends.  Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing this fine Christian lady were touched by her in their own personal way.  Her husband of 26 years, Jack Legg, a sister, Annie Mae Dillingham, and her longtime furry companion, “Little Man”, preceded her in death.

Surviving are four children, Linnie “Tina” Johnson and husband Randy of Marion, Martha Jane Allison of Marion, Sherry Lynn Hutchins of Hickory and John R. Legg and wife Tracy Kay of Nebo; three brothers, David Justice and wife Margaret of Marion, Dean Justice and wife Gay of Maiden, and Rev. Donald Justice and wife Brenda of Old Fort; two sisters, Helen Wills of Marion and Bonnie Davis and husband Haskell of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great- granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Service and Cremations in Old Fort with Pastor Ron Poole and Rev. Donald Justice officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Cherry Springs Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.  Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice of McDowell at 575 Airport Road, Marion, NC  28652.  The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the loving care given to Joyce in her final days.  Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
