Jane Nichols Hudgins, age 63, of Old Fort, NC passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her residence with her loving family by her side. A native of McDowell County, NC, she was born May 6, 1948 to the late B.T. and Beulah Calloway Nichols. Jane graduated from Old Fort High and was an alumni of Western Carolina University. She was owner and operator of McDowell Flowers and Gifts for 16 years. Jane was a member of Mountain Glory Quilters Guild and was a charter member of Grace Community Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Edwin Hudgins of the home; two daughters, Emily Hudgins Smith and her husband, Howard Smith, Jr. of Old Fort, NC and Sara Hudgins Tolbert and her husband, Preston of Old Fort, NC; two uncles, Cecil Nichols of Asheville, NC, Bill Early of Old Fort, NC and one aunt, Grace Calloway of Morganton, NC.
A memorial service for Jane will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church with Revs. Jerry Lewis and Howard Smith, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the church. |
