We are so very sorry to hear of your loss. What a wonderful man! I just know that as soon as heaven's doors opened for him the Lord allow Bill Vance and Lida Vance to greet him! I remember one of his sermons at Oak Grove, he said:"I don't think we will be zombies in heaven, oh I can just hear those coon dogs runnin' right now". What a wonderful man! We are praying for you all and we love you.

Margaret Ann,
My heart goes out to you. We all loved your family so much. Remember how Kris and Garren used to call Marty "Preacher Marty Ann"? We have felt such loss ourselves and know how hard it is going to be for you. We will keep you in our prayers and ask that you do the same for us. We love you.

Dearest Margaret, Richard is so heart-broken as am I upon hearing of Marty''s tragic death. We have talked often over the years about our visit when Marty was preaching at Spruce Pine. Remember? We went to church that Sunday morning without Marty knowing we were in town. Marty shook hands with the "new man" sitting in the pew but Richard didn''t say a word wondering if Marty would recognize him. When Marty finally did recognize Richard, he came down the aisle from the front and said, "BROTHER, I know who you are, you are Cousin Dickey, STAND up and let me hug "yo" neck!" The 2 cousins hadn''t seen each other in a long time but yet were so close. I can''t tell you how many times we have shared that story with friends including our own Pastor here in Kansas City. That moment brought great tears of joy and now we share tears of sadness. We can only rejoice in the hope and salvation of our risen Lord and Savior. Know that we are thinking of all of you and we hold you ever so close in our hearts. We would like to have yours & Ginger & Jeannie''s e-mail addresses if possible. Until we meet again. Much love, Richard & Terrie

Margaret, Joe Bob and Annette:

We are so sorry to hear of Marty's accident and your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Marty could always make everyone smile with such ease. We remember him inviting us to Oak Grove when we were first married and driving up from Marion to hear him at his new church and visit with you. He will be missed.

Margaret, Dixie, Ginger and all the family....my deepest sympathy for this tragic loss. We don't understand why these things happen...but God does. He needed Marty in Heaven more than we needed him here on earth. May He wrap you in His strong loving arms....just lean on Him totally.
