Mrs. Mary Ann Grant Hall, age 65, of Old Fort, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Thursday, March 8, 2012 following an extended illness. A native of McDowell County, Mary Ann was a daughter of the late Oscar Grant and Eula Morgan Grant. She was retired from Baxter Healthcare. A more loving, caring person would be hard to find. She became a mother to her siblings following their mother’s death. This loving saint always had an open door and a meal to share with anyone who was in need. She lived her life as a true testament to a Christian way to live. She loved her family and her precious pet Baby. Her husband of 49 years, Edward Lee Hall, preceded her in death.

Left to hold her memory close are two sons, Keith Hall and his wife Melissa of Old Fort and Aubrey Hines of Marion; a daughter, Shelia Goldie Corn of Morganton; two brothers, Ross Grant and his wife Edith of Marion and Roy Grant and his wife Debbie of Old Fort; two sisters, Nancy Hudgins and her husband Carroll and Nina Ledford and her husband Wade, all of Arden; five grandchildren, Derrick, Megan, Seth, Anissa and Madison; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Hughes, Charles Duycks and Tony Vess officiating. The family will recive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Community Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at 120 Executive Park #1, Asheville, NC 28801, or to the Gideon’s International at PO Box 1788, Marion, NC 28752.

Keith, Roy, and family; I am sorry for the loss of Mary Ann. She was a kind, sweet, and nice lady. She always loved her family. The last time I saw Mary, she was showing me pictures, of you all. God bless each one of you. May he wrap his big, comforting arms around you, during this time, and always. Love, and prayers, Yvonne
