Dennis L. Crisp, age 54, of Old Fort, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at The McDowell Hospital.  Dennis was born in McDowell County on July 19, 1957 to Robert and Martha McKinney Crisp of Marion.  He drove a truck for Gene Griffin Trucking out of Union Mills.  A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, he will be remembered for the love he had for all who knew him.  He never met a stranger and anyone who had the pleasure to meet him without exception liked him.  He had many interests, not the least of which was the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.   He also enjoyed boating and fishing, keeping his yard up, his dogs and his transfer truck.  He was a man who will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.

Surviving, in addition to his parents are his wife of 36 years, Cynthia White Crisp; three children, Chasity Whitson and her husband Kenny of Marion, Michelle Dalton and her husband Mark of Old Fort Bryan Crisp of the home; two brothers, Keith Crisp and his wife Sheila and Terry Crisp and his wife Rae, all of Marion; a sister, Tammy Crisp of Canton, GA; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home with Revs. Ray Broome and Lawrence Westall officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
