Billie West Wheeler, age 68, of Old Fort, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 as a result of an automobile accident.  Billie was born in Arkansas on May 7, 1943 and was a daughter of the late Billy R. West and Scottie Cochran West.  She was a very loving mother and grandmother.  She lived her life for and was devoted totally to her family. A daughter, Tamara Gilliam Fox, preceded her in death.
 
Left to cherish Billie’s memory are three children:  Betty G. Boles-Vanover and husband Steven of Black Mountain, Aaron M. Gilliam Jr. of Old Fort and Jeffrey H. Gilliam and wife Patti of Old Fort; two sisters: Robin Smith of Arizona and Linda Bennett of California; one brother, Robert West of California; seven grandchildren: Scottie, Ronald, Amanda, Adam, James, Alyssa and Adrian; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
 
A memorial service and receiving of friends will be held Monday, April 2nd 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rail Restaurant in Old Fort. 
 
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park #1, Asheville, NC 28801.

Betty, Scotty & Amanda: We were so sorry to learn of your mother's/grandmother's (Ms. Wheeler's) passing. May God grant you comfort in this your deepest hour of sorrow. I am so sadden for the loss of this wonderful and caring lady. She greatly touched my life and gave hope and inspiration to all those who came to know her. I am praying for all of you and know that you are in God''s loving arms.

Dear Kathy, Pat, David, and Mickey,

Randall and I are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Billie. She left so soon after her precious, beloved Tammy. Know that you folks are loved, my very own family members. You and yours are in our prayers at this most difficult time. Cherish the sweet memories. May Christ comfort all those whose lives she touched so deeply.
