Beth and family, so sorry to hear of Jerry''s passing, so glad I got to see and talk to him at the reunion in October. He and I were very close friend''s over the years we worked together and went to football games together. He talked me into helping him and Lee Buchanan into helping them call little league football in Mitchell County, but I didn''t last long, but he was cut out for that. May God touch and bless you and the family during this time of loss, a friend Winston Hefner...

To the family. I am so saddened to hear that Jerry passed away. He was a buddy of mine for many many years. I work for Charter TV. He came in every month and always had a smile on his face. I can remember him aggravating me but I knew it was his way of picking on me. I am so sorry for your loss and Jerry will always be remembered as a friend by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I will keep you an your family in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless and keep you. He will always be there when times get to hard to handle, you just have to turn to him for guidance and he will see you thru.

Beth, Kevin, Kim & Jeff, Hunter and Caroline, our hearts are with you all even though we can't be with you in person. How blessed Greg & I have been to have been a part of Jerry's life and to know the wonderful husband, father and Papaw he is. We remember fondly the times spent with our families together at the park at Easter, Tuesday nights at Hazel's for supper, at birthday parties and sporting events for both Hunter and Caroline, and so many other countless events and get-togethers. From the time Jerry and Beth welcomed us into their family when Kim & Jeff got married, it just seems like our families blended seamlessly - that's Love! Greg and I so wish we could be in NC with you all right now, but since we can't, please know that prayers, thoughts, hugs and kisses have been and are coming your way. And if there is anything we can do please let us know. We love you Jerry, and look forward to seeing you again in heaven!

Beth, We were so sad to hear of Jerry's passing . I always loved Jerry he was one of my favorite cousins. I remember Carol and I going to see him years back when he was in the VA hospital so sick. Everytime we saw Jerry he always would be smiling and he would tell you about his family we loved Jerry very much. Due to sickness Carol has cancer and taking chemo and I'm out of work with my back is the reason we didn't get to come but our prayers are with you and your family.

I worked with Jerry at the Oteen Veterans Hospital in Housekeeping. He was one of the best supervisors and well respected. I never seen him get mad, always very kind-hearted and humble to all of us. He treated all with respect and dignity. A fine man and a genuine Christian.

Jerry will be missed. The staff and I at the VA have always respected Jerry. He was always happy and had good things to say about all. Sorry I did not hear of his passing until today. I talked with him the last time he was here visiting by himself. He was as strong as always not wanting to give up.

God saw him getting tired when a cure was not to be so he closed his arms around him and whispered "come to me" he didn't deserve what he went through and so God gave him rest. God's garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best. In tears we sway hhim sinking we watched him fade away. Our hearts are broken he fought so hard to stay. But when we saw him sleeping so peacefully free from pain we could not wish him back to suffer pain again.
