Mr. Elmer Matthew Noles, Sr. age 71, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care in Valdese after several years of declining health. Mr. Noles was born on February 11, 1941 in Tifton, Georgia to the late William and Dora Miller Noles. He lived most of his life in Florida, especially around the Arcadia area, retired from construction as a plasterer and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Preceding Mr. Noles in death are two brothers, Jack and Kenny and a sister, Barbara Ann.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Elmer “Sambo” Noles, Jr. and wife Janet, and Michael Noles and wife April, both of Marion; a daughter, Tammy Noles of Fort McCoy, Florida; former wife, Margaret Noles (Finke); ten grandchildren, LaShella, Shana, Samantha, Sabrina, Shane, Ashley, Marandia, Summer, Dakota, and Autumn; three great grandchildren, Gavyn, Alayna and Karmyn; a sister, Sharon of Florida; brothers, Edward, Lamar and Ernie, all of Florida. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Mike Noles with Rev. Chris Clayton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Noles memory to Hospice of McDowell County, 575 Airport Road, Marion, NC. 28752.
