Cindy Epley Tollison, age 51, of Marion, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Joseph Campus-Memorial Mission Hospitals in Asheville.  A native of McDowell County, Cindy was born March 18, 1962 and was a daughter of the late James C. “Buddy” Epley and Eleanor Grayson Epley.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marion.   Cindy was a kind and caring person that always tried to help others in need. She was employed with Catawba Valley Medical until her health declined.  Her family meant everything to her and she was always there for them.  She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Surviving Cindy is her husband, David Tollison of the home; three daughters, Kimie Gallion and husband Eric of Pleasant Gardens, Elaina Ogle and fiancée Derek Creson of the home and Lesley Tollison also of the home; two brothers, Jim Epley and wife Tonja and Sonny Epley and wife Darlene of Marion; two sisters, Carol Epley and Gail Ellis and husband Jack of Marion; three nephews, Mitchell Epley, Alex and Daniel Ellis  and three nieces Amanda Epley, Lauren and Emily Presnell.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00 am in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Preston Thomas and Rev. Marty Conner officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am, prior to the service, at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Cherry Springs Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Family, 23 Chris Drive, Marion, N. C. 28752.

Preston and I considered Cindy to be a good friend. We loved her and are so sorry for your loss. She will be missed by all who were blessed to have her in their life. If you need anything please don't hesitate to call us. We love you all.
