David Anthony "Tony" Fuller

June 5, 1959 ~ March 14, 2018 (age 58)

David Anthony Fuller, known to friends as Tony, passed away on March 14, 2018 after a brief fight with cancer.  He was 58 years old.

Born in Maryville, Tennessee on June 5, 1959 to the late David S. Fuller and Shirley Fuller of Nebo, Tony grew up in Marion and graduated from McDowell High School in 1977.  After high school he began his career as a project manager for McDowell Mechanical Services.  Changing vocations, he worked at Tom Johnson Camping Center and several other RV dealerships in North Carolina and Virginia.  Tony thrived at work as he enjoyed the company of others and was friendly and easy to talk to.  He had a special talent for making people feel valued and respected and never met a stranger.  This same kind nature extended further to his love for animals, especially his adopted cat Phoebe.  In his free time, Tony was an avid fan of both the Carolina Panthers and the Tar Heels.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his brother Stan and his wife Julie of Winston-Salem, and their children Cole, Ryan, and Caitlin.  Additionally, he is survived by his aunt and uncle, Imogene and Don Brookshire of Tennessee and his cousin Becky.

The family will receive friends at Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be held the following day at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church Cemetery where Tony will be laid to rest beside his father.  Rev. Josh Hayes will officiate.  Memorial donations may be made to the Novant Health Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center at 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
