Raymond Lee Englebrecht

September 23, 1930 ~ June 22, 2017 (age 86)

Mr. Raymond Lee Englebrecht, age 86, of Fletcher, died peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Autumn Care of Marion.  Raymond was a native of Yates Center, Kansas and was born on September 23, 1930 to the late William Sherman Englebrecht and Crystal Pilcher Englebrecht.  A veteran of the U. S. Army, he served faithfully during the Korean War as a Coder, one who infiltrates enemy positions and sends information about enemy positions back through encrypted messages.  He was a man of many talents and always took the time to pass his knowledge on to his children.  Through him they were taught many valuable life and survival skills including sailing, flying airplanes, shooting, and archery among other things.  He made friends easily and those who came to know and love this good man are going to miss him very much.  A great-grandson, Christopher Kit Arno, preceded him in death.

Raymond is survived by two children, Raymond Lee Englebrecht and wife Susan of Wauna, WA and Mary DeHart and husband Kit of Almond, NC; two brothers, John Englebrecht of McMinnville, OR and Orval Englebrecht of Lincolnton, OR; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
