Wanda Wilson Harmon, age 76, passed away five days after losing her son Darryl Harmon, on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Meadowview, VA, Wanda was born on April 21, 1943 to the late William “Bill” Wilson and Blanche Widener Wilson. She was an avid reader and a member of Parkers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. What Wanda enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family and having their company. She was a sweet lady, and everyone loved her.
Wanda is preceded in death, in addition to her son Darryl, by her husband, Bernard Harmon and son, Mark Harmon.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Davis of Old Fort; three brothers, Larry, Jay, and Curtis Wilson; three sisters, Barbara Pierce, Stella Barr, and Edith Barr; and two grandchildren, Dustin Craig and Emma Barrier.
A combined memorial service for Wanda and her son Darryl, will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Service and Cremation in Old Fort.
