William Daniel Faulkner was called home on Wednesday September 18, 2019 in Marion, North Carolina. William was born to Malinda “Sam” Harmon-Mayhew and the late William Lee Faulkner in Laurel, Maryland on October 12, 1970. William grew up in Emerald Island, NC and there began his life-long love of fishing and all the joys of coastal life. He passionately loved his friends, animals, plants and music. He graduated with a Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. He became a Certified Addictions Counselor and Recovery Coach, served on numerous Boards and served as the Facilities Director for Recovery Ventures of Old Fort, NC for over a decade. His infectious smile brought joy and laughter to everyone he met.
He is survived by his mother “Sam”, his wife Lois Kaye Faulkner, his five half-brothers, every one of his dearly loved friends and his beloved dogs; George Sequoia and LittleBit.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. God speed your journey sweet William.
