Eleanor Gibson Lee, age 76, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, March 13, 2020.
Eleanor was born in Tallulah Falls, GA on April 9, 1943 to the late Cloney R. “Hoot” Gibson and Thelma Huffman Gibson.
She was a homemaker who cooked wonderful meals and had a real desire to
have a “Grandma House” for her family, especially her grandchildren.
She loved to putter in her flower garden and feed her fish.
Her loving nature and ready smile made people feel loved and welcome and everyone who knew her loved her.
She will be dearly missed.
Her husband of 43 years, Edward E. “Butch” Lee, and a son-in-law, David Burleson, preceded her in death.
Surviving are three children,
Belinda Lee, Gerald Lee and Carrie Burleson, all of Morganton;
her sister, Joann Cobb of Augusta, GA; a sister-in-law, Betty Gibson of Phoenix City, AL;
and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain
on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Justice officiating.
Following the service, Eleanor will be laid to rest beside her beloved Butch.
