Jerry Wayne Parker

January 16, 1960 ~ May 31, 2021 (age 61)


During the early morning hours of Monday, May 31, 2021, Mr. Jerry Wayne Parker, age 61 of Old Fort, peacefully transitioned into his home on a golden shore in the house of the Lord with his brother Terry and his father John Moore Parker welcoming him home. The son of Christine Parker of Marion, he was born in Buncombe County on January 16, 1960.


“One of a kind.” The words of Jerry’s family that could not have been truer. He was known for his sense of humor and ability to make anyone laugh at the drop of a hat. Jerry had a deep affection for his beloved family including his beloved wife of over forty-three years, Rebecca Ward Parker, and their four wonderful children, Jeremy, Kelly, Travis, and Angela. He was also an excellent grandfather to Sarah Parker, Jessica Parker, Brixson Parker, Treston Parker, Tyler Fox and Journey Parker, as well as a loving great grandfather to precious Alice Parker.


Jerry made many friends over the years that helped him along his journey in life who will forever hold a special place in their hearts for his fun and loving spirit.


Also left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother are his siblings Marla Perry, Wilma Delvin, Linda Letterman, Mike Parker, and Jackie Parker, as well as several nieces and nephews.


A private family service to celebrate and honor Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.
