Louise (Rhodes) Hoover

Obituary

Louise Hoover, age 83, of Old Fort, NC, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Mission Hospital – Memorial Campus.

Louise was born August 23, 1937 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Walter and Ethel Rhodes.  She retired from McDowell County Schools as a Special Education Teacher.  She was an avid reader and loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edward Hoover; two sons, Gene Hoover and Terry Lee Hoover; and two grandsons, Terry Scott Hoover and Dustin Harr.

Those left behind to cherish Louise’s memory are four children, Vicky Umstead (Jim), Debra White (Mark), Bill Hoover and Steve Hoover; two brothers, Walter Rhodes and Donald Rhodes; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Louise’s wishes no services will be held at this time.
