Vera Catherine Collins Elliott, age 91, of Marion, NC, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 8, 2021.
Vera was born January 10, 1930 in Burke County, NC to the late Grover Collins and Vinnie Hall Collins. She was the youngest of eight girls. She worked at Baxter Healthcare for many years until her retirement in 1998 and was a member of Story Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. Vera was a wonderful person with a soft, sweet spirit. People gravitated toward her kindness and gentleness. Some of her favorite pastimes were crocheting and knitting. She was known for some of the beautiful pieces she made. She made everything from the heart to give to others and never sold anything. Above all, she loved her family and she will forever be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benjamin R. Elliott, Jr. and her seven sisters.
Those left behind to cherish Vera’s memory are two cherished children, Rollins Elliott (Cynthia) of Nebo, NC and Gale Isaacs (Jerry) of Morristown, TN; five precious grandchildren, Rollins Stanford “J.R.” Elliott, Jr. and his family of Burnsville, NC, Michelle Quintero (Isaac) and their family of Burnsville, NC, Misty Seagle (Andy) and their three daughters of Marion, NC, Candee Fowler (David) and their children, Teagan and Cate of Knoxville, TN and Rod Isaacs (Robyn) and their children, Stone and Dylan of Morristown, TN; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion, NC. A graveside service to celebrate Vera’s life will follow at 2:00 pm at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Judy H. Eurey officiating.
